York County
On the 10th, a LONG-BILLED DOWITCHER was reported from Hills Beach in Biddeford at low tide.
A LITTLE GULL was reported from the Webhannet River Marsh in Wells on the 13th.
One FORSTER'S TERN was photographed at the mouth of the Kennebunk River on the 11th.
Greater Portland
There were no reports of the WHITE-FACED IBIS in the Scarborough Marsh this week; the bird was last seen in basic plumage, which could lower its detectability. The adult TRICOLORED HERON and the two presumed TRICOLORED HERON x SNOWY EGRET hybrids do continue to be seen, often from the Eastern Trail running through the Scarborough Marsh.
Kennebec River Valley (Augusta-Waterville)
At least a single SANDHILL CRANE and one BLACK TERN are still being seen at Messalonskee Lake in Belgrade as of the 7th.
Midcoast
First located on August 8th, an adult FORSTER'S TERN was seen again at Maquoit Bay in Brunswick on the 11th.
Penobscot Bay
On August 3rd, Maine's thirds MEW GULL was found behind Thomaston Grocery on Main Street in Thomaston. Despite careful searching, the gull was not relocated until the 12th when it was found roosting on the roof of building #7 at the Lyman Morse Boatyard early in the morning. The bird was seen again on the afternoon of the 13th at the Thomaston Pollution Control Plant, located at the end of Booker Street, and visible from the trails of the Thomaston Town Forest.
