[Maine-birds] Need Cuckoos for my caterpillar outbreak

Hi,

I heard a black-billed cuckoo this morning and need many more cuckoos in the yard because my back deck has been receiving a 'rain' of caterpillar frass (poo), the size of small rice grains.  Once wet, they flatten out and stick to surfaces.  I have not noticed this in Augusta before.  Our oak trees seem to have lost some of their foliage and I have seen a few large caterpillars.

Does anyone know what might be causing this frassiferous rain?
