[Maine-birds] Cutler Least sandpipers on June 26

I was working along Little Machias Bay last week and saw two adult least sandpipers along the western shore.  I was out of reach of a computer until today so the report is a bit late.

The previous week I had two whimbrels along the eastern shore of Machias Bay along the mainland across from Cross Island.  I also had a greater yellowlegs who never made it north and vocalizing willets (two days) that week.  I was working so I could not check out the willets.

The willets may have nested locally as I have had territorial Willets in a raised plateau bog located above (east) the head of Holme's Bay in Cutler during the 2008 and 2009 nesting seasons.  They also nest in a mined section of the southern portion of Jonesport Heath.
