[Maine-birds] Re: (Maine Birds) Mount Desert Island Birds 60 species

Mount Desert Island Birds:  60 species  July 4/5 2012

Hunters Beach and trail 2012, Hancock, US-ME
Aug 5, 2012 7:30 AM - 8:30 AM
Protocol: Traveling
2.0 mile(s)
Comments: Lee Ende from NJ, Steve and Elena Bartha from Conn. started the day at Hunters Beach looking for forest and ocean birds. Coastal fog today will limit the time we spend on the southern coast, opting instead for the fog free northern side of the island. The inversion fog created by warm fronts passing over the colder Gulf of Maine is a normal event on MDI. By mid morning the fog was still thick on the southern coast while the sun was shining in Town Hill.
