Greetings, birding friends -- with apologies to Warren Zevon:
Aooooooooooooo! Redpolls of SoPo! Aooooooooooo! I've seen lotsa
redpolls in SoPo but never a Hoary Redpoll until today. In fact, the
only other place I've ever seen a Hoary Redpoll was in Nunavut, where
they're a trash bird.
Thank you, Doug Hitchcox and Frank Mitchell, for getting myself and a
bunch of other birders on such an awesome (not to mention conveniently
located) bird. And thanks to Noah Gibb for being on the bird already
when I got there so I didn't even have to figure out which birch trees
to gaze up at.
