[Maine-birds] Sabattus Pond: Greater and Lesser Scaup, Gadwall, Ruddy Duck, Pine Grosbeak

Hello All,

Approximately 180 Scaup were off Sanborn Road this morning with more Greaters than previously in the mix from what I could see.  Also a Horned Lark on the Sandbar and seasonal high of 16 Common Goldeneye.

37 Ruddy Ducks from Sawyer Road on West side.

From Martin's Point:  Two Gadwall from the boat launch looking toward the dam and a Common Loon and Horned Grebe north of the Point.

Pine Grosbeaks were seen at four locations around the village, all feeding in groups of 2-6 on ornamental crabapple trees.

No Coots were seen on the lake.

Notable were 500+ Ring-billed Gulls between Sanborn Road and the fields east of the lake.

American Tree Sparrows here and there.

Good birding,
Dan Nickerson Freeport
