[Maine-birds] TFITW Scarborough

The Feeders In The Woods~

So far just the routine/normal selection at this time of year.

A pair of Cardinals and two youngins
Two pair of T Titmouse
36+ Juncos
24+ Chickadees
12+ pair of Goldfinches
14 Turkeys
Pair of Hairy WP
Pair of Downy WP
6-16 Crows
White Breasted Nuthatch
Red Breasted Nuthatch
An occassional Robin
24+ Blue Jays

A yet unseen hawk this fall, but evidence once or twice a week that one has had a meal before I go out and fill the feeders in the woods.  Most likely a local resident Sharp Shin which we have spotted several times over the past few years in the immediate vicinity.  Occassionally we also see a Red Tail hanging around the area as well.

About a month ago we had a Blue Heron spend some time in the top of a poplar tree for a 15 minute rest.

Had three Ruby Throats all summer long.

Additional wildlife in the woods~seen on a regular basis!

Racoons~Mom and two youngins
Possom
Gray Fox
River Otter
Gray Squirrels~10+
Red Squirrels~4+
Chipmunks~5+
N Flying Squirrels~6...much to our despair, local cats have dwindled the population significantly.

Routinely see at least 6 different felines checking out the local resources...with only one being a dedicated killer~and he has been declawed~

Keukahawk and Sunshine
