Weather:Rain and fog made for a short day on the mountain. After a late start, I watched dense fog devour the surrounding area,in about 45 minutes time, at which point I packed up, headed down, and watched the radar from the comfort of home. Rain, poor visibility, and thunder and lightning remained an issue for the duration of the count period.
Raptor Observations:Migrating birds of prey are on back order. Check back tomorrow during normal operating hours.
Non-raptor Observations:7 species were seen or heard today.
Predictions:Tomorrow's temperatures will probably be on the cooler side, with highs only scratching at 40 degrees, and a wind chill which could shave a good 10 degrees off of that high. Winds appear to be coming from the SE at a stiff 20 mph, with gusts around 30 mph. Cloud cover should remain minimal. I wouldn't expect to set any records tomorrow, with the predicted forecast, but I do hope to count something, maybe the first Peregrine of the season, powering through, will get pushed inland towards the mountain. I can only hope.
