Visitors:21 visitors today.
Weather:Mostly cloudy all day, with blue pockets showing through until the very end of the day when it became completely overcast. Winds were out of the southeast all day but were variable in their south-ness and east-ness. Temps ranged from 46 to 55.
Raptor Observations:The 1st half of the day was quite productive, with Ospreys and Broad-wings giving great looks as the streamed low over the summit. Around 2pm, the approaching storm system south of us apparently blocked off the stream of migrating raptors and the flight died in its tracks. We searched hard for the Eurasian Kestrel that was observed migrating through Mass yesterday, to no avail.
Non-raptor Observations:Not much moving, a small movement of blackbirds in the morning. Common Grackle: 30 Blackbird Spp.: 35 Tree Swallow: 14 Great Blue Heron: 1 The Junco pair is currently building a nest at the summit, we really hope people stay on the trails and keep their dogs on leashes so they can have a chance at fledging a brood. A total of 22 species were observed from the summit.
Predictions:Precip all day tomorrow.
