Visitors:
37 people stopped by the count site. The parkgoers cleared out at about the same rate as the raptors. I was mostly alone for the final hours and I was the last vehicle in the lot when I left.

Weather:
A pretty similar day as yesterday with the addition of some water. Clear skies early started to fill in with clouds mid morning. Winds at the summit remained fairly calm but Portland was reporting higher speeds with strong gusts. Visibility improved from good to excellent in lockstep with the increasing cloud cover. Later in the day a few saturated clouds shed a few drops and a couple got me. I'm not as spry as I once was.

Raptor Observations:
A very uneventful day for raptors. A displaying Coop started the day along with a close flyby of an immature 'shoulder and some pesky Eagles. After that the skies became very still. A late day Harrier tried to blend in with some distant TV's, but I hadn't quite fallen asleep at the scope.

Non-raptor Observations:
Uneventful for passerines to. Often when the raptors aren't flying I can at least count or watch other birds but not today. Once I had left the site for the day I found many of those birds holding out in the nearby yards and fields. We did have our FOY Eastern Phoebe and Double-crested cormorants. The complete list of birds spotted moving north today include, drumroll please: 128 Blackbird spp 15 Canada Geese 29 Common Grackles 5 Red-winged Blackbirds 3 Double-crested Cormorants 1 Common Merganser 1 American Robin 1 American Goldfinch 1 Purple Finch 1 American Blackduck

Predictions:
Tomorrow looks like what we'd expect for the first days of the count. It's going to be much cooler and pretty windy. Air temps will be in the low 30's but feel like low 20's due to the northwest winds at 10-15mph and gusting to the mid 20's, later in the day. Sky cover should persist for the day. I wouldn't expect much if this was the start of the count but creeping up on April you never know what might come through. I don't think we'll be breaking records, that's for sure.
