Weather:
It was a nice peaceful morning, for a moment, at the summit today. Skies were pretty clear and the sun was direct. Temps climbed quickly into the low 50's. Winds were not propitious and blowing with a bit of force at times, coming mostly from the east and southeast. Clouds crept in as the day rolled on, leaving a little blue sky visible to our north.

Raptor Observations:
There did seem to be some leftovers from yesterday who were on the move early. A group of TV's took flight right off and moved north as soon as I was set up. East winds seemed to slow down the migration today or maybe we missed birds as they were pushed inland before getting as far north as Bradbury. Some birds remained low while others had found plenty of lift, reaching the higher altitudes.

Non-raptor Observations:
Another quiet day with little bird sound or flight. An Eastern Phoebe made sure everyone was aware of its presence at the mountain. Ravens were out and about today, playing and escorting raptors acting as a beacon for spotting some of our migrants. We did have our first Yellow-bellied Sapsucker of the year today. 24 species were seen or heard but only briefly.

Predictions:
If the rain holds off until later maybe we'll see some movement in the morning, possibly some Osprey we never spotted today. Winds look like they'll be a factor in what takes to the skies from the outset, blowing in from the northeast with strong gusts. Potential for rain increases throughout the day but may not be too bad until after the day has wrapped up. Temps in the 40's
