Visitors:Visitors came through in waves, throwing rocks, watching reruns and shooting music videos. 33 visitors in total.
Weather:The weather was completely different than what was suggested yesterday. There was only minimal fog to be seen, well offshore, leaving us with good visibility. Skies were overcast for half the day then the sun started to make an appearance. The afternoon was very sunny and quite warm. A nice surprise. Unfortunately the wind predictions were fairly accurate with a consistent breeze coming from a northern and eastern direction for most of the day. We had a little bit of SE right at the end of the count.
Raptor Observations:I thought I was going to have a new low count for the day until the sun started to shine. There was a little noticeable change in migrants as soon as the sun came out but certainly not what we're all waiting for. We had a nice little train of Kestrels in the afternoon which all came through on similar flight-lines.
Non-raptor Observations:A couple more passerines were on the move this am but not any big movements. Activity at the summit was pretty quiet all day with the exception of some Pine Warblers. Northbound birds include: 267 Double-crested Cormorants 8 Tree Swallows 4 Yellow-rumped Warblers 3 Purple Finches 3 Canada Geese 1 Great Blue Heron 3
Predictions:It looks like a much better chance of rain tomorrow with an increasing chance in the afternoon. Winds are still coming from the east and could be strong at times. Temps will likely be cooler and around 50. Fog could be an issue but I've heard that one before.
