Visitors:The summit was weirdly quiet again considering the beautiful weather. 16 visitors, including a little kid with Batman bincocs(!!). 2 horses.
Weather:Gorgeous day up at the summit. Blue skies, high of 63. Winds were quite calm (barely out of the NE/E) for the first half of the day. In the last 3 hours of the day, the winds rotated to the SSE and picked up.
Raptor Observations:The first four hours were quite slow, the last 4 hours were quite lovely. Broad-wings seem to be dropping off compared to sharpies. Decent falcon flight in the 2nd half.
Non-raptor Observations:Non-raptors deemed migratory: -Red-wingEd Blackbird: 1 -Great Blue Heron: 2 -Tree Swallow: 3 -Ruby-throated Hummingbird: 1 -Barn Swallow: 15 -Pine Siskin: 1 -Purple Finch: 2 -Yellow-rumped Warbler: 1 -American Goldfinch: 2 -Chimney Swift: 6 -Double-crested Cormorant: 1 40 species detected from the summit, including FOS Black-throated Blue Warbler, Black and White Warbler, and Blackburnian Warbler. Predictions:Mostly cloudy tomorrow. High in the mid-50's. Winds will be weak out of the northeast, but switching to the south later in the day.
