Just before dusk on Sunday the 9th there were another 5 Wood Ducks roosting low in a tree by the Hiram boat launch on the Saco River. They all flushed upon close approach. I don't recall ever seeing them this late in the year, although the weather has recently been on the mild side and the river is still free of ice. .Sean Smith
