Hello from California!I'll be staying with friends in North Belgrade, between Waterville and Augusta, the week of July 7-13, and am looking forward to seeing some east coast birds. Before I strike out on my own, I was wondering if anyone here knows of any scheduled bird walks or field trips anywhere near there during that week. Thanks!Chris SpurgeonLa Crescenta, CA

Greetings, Mainebirders-
Does anyone have a great photo of the recent Scissor-tailed Flycatcher (in Brunswick) Jeff and I can use in our column in the Boothbay Register? We need to post it this morning so need it ASAP. Will give credit!

[Maine-birds] Rose breasted grosbeaks
Today an adult male rose breasted grosbeaks is very busy stuffing suet in the mouth of a baby up on a limb.
I suspected babies were there, as momma grosbeak, out at back feeder was very noisy about something. So dad is in front yard mom is in back yard. The young are out of the best.
Question, have I created a whole family of dependents?
