I saw a similar all-white small duck at the ponds on Sept 29th. I haven't seen it since. I wonder if it is the same bird.

[Maine-birds] new duck at Evergreen, Portland

This morning there is a new classic white duck with a slightly turned up orange bill on the large pond at Evergreen. It's a little smaller than the nearby malllards.

Hinckley Park in South Portland has been blanketed with Carolina Wrens for the last couple of weeks. (Not 1000 % sure of ID, since it is by sound, but it sure sounds like them.)

Re: [Maine-birds] Carolina Wren - backyard

We've had a Carolina Wren at the feeders in Hiram for the past couple of days as well. It seems to relish the peanut & red pepper suet, but will also take black oil sunflower seeds. Such an inquisitive bird, lots of personality and it seems to poke its head into everything, Hope it remains for a while. There were 3 Hermit Thrushes in the yard today as well.

[Maine-birds] Snow Buntings and late-lingering Laughing Gulls - MDI

Good morning all - Super gusty onshore winds this morning in the area of Seawall Pond and Seawall Picnic Area, plus some spits of rain. 2 Snow Buntings were on the roadside in the Seawall Pond area, and Laughing Gulls (who seem to always stay late in this location) were huddling on the shore and bathing in the pond along with Black-backs, Ring-bills and Herrings.

Also had a Sharp-shinned flyover, heading south.
