We just returned from a Coastal Maine trip, enjoying all the birds and beauty along the way. We covered Boot Cove, Machias Seal Island, West Quoddy and Lubec, Moosehorn NWR (Edmunds), Acadia - Sieur de Mont, Jordan Pond, Bass Harbor, and a Seabird/Whalewatch trip. Despite having to dodge numerous passing showers on a couple days, we had a great time and saw a nice diversity of species. Highlights included:

Spruce Grouse - 1 female - 6/24 (Rt. 191 near Boot Cove)
Pomarine Jaeger - 1 - 6/25 (Machias Seal Island)
Parasitic Jaeger - 1 adult light - 6/28 (Whalewatch)
Roseate Tern - 1 - 6/28 (Whalewatch - Petit Manan)
Common Murre - 100+ - 6/25 (Machias Seal Island - including 10+ Bridled) and 6/28 (Whalewatch)
Razorbill - 2,000+ - 6/25 (Machias Seal Island) and 6/28 (Whalewatch)
Atlantic Puffin - 3,000+ - 6/25 (Machias Seal Island) and 6/28 (Whalewatch)
Barred Owl - 1 - 6/28 - Sieur de Mont
Gray Jay - 1 - 6/24 - Boot Cove

9 species of Sparrows
Nelson's Sharp-tailed Sparrow - 3 - 6/25 (Lubec)
Other delights were 2 Moose on Rt. 191 near Cutler, 4 Humpback Whales, and a sunset dinner cruise to top it all off!!
