Comments: Brenda, Carol and I focused on the nesting cormorants on Thrumcap. Looks like about 225 birds dominating the apex of the island. Here the nests are piled high with adults feeding chicks and feeding and foraging activity by cormorants in every direction. All of the birds seen yesterday were adults while in the narrows along Hadley Point many of the cormorants seen there were juveniles of various ages.

Comments: Brenda, Carol and I found a Nesting Brown Creeper. We watched for a while as the parents brought a variety of food items to the nest located in the water of the beaver pond in the valley. The beaver are using this location again. This has always been a great birding location.

Comments: Brenda, Carol and I checking isolated locations around the southern MDI locations. The upper streams of Otter Cove provide habitat for beaver along this meandering stream.

Comments: Brenda, Carol and I explored the emerging old growth forest of along this root laden trail. Blackburnian Warbler, Swainson's Thrush and many Golden-crowned Kinglet at arms length allowed for longs observation of the juveniles and adults and comparisons of the lack of a crown of the recently fledged birds.
