Today in the drizzle there were two basic plumage Black Terns hawking insects on the Unity Pond. Possibly dispersed from Carlton Bog, but perhaps arrived from further afield. The WW Scoter that has been at the pond all summer remains.
Nearby in Thorndike a large group of swallow (Barn, Bank, Tree) included 12 swifts and a nighthawk. Lots of warblers and flycatchers also about all week.
Good birding,
tom
