Had a nice walk down the hill this a.m. in Sidney:
rc kinglets chasing and singing
palm warbler
pine w.
yr warbler
song sparrows
flicker
three loons on Messalonskee Lake at the state boat launch
kestrel pair on the barn roof at the Goodhue Farm
6 tree swallows at my house sorting out who gets which box
bluebird in our neighbor's orchard
I got to bird for a minute in Central Park in nyc earlier in the week and in that minute had two hermit thrushes, wt sparrows, a towhee, and a ruby crowned kinglet before my boys dragged me away.
In central NJ yesterday I had singing field sparrows, a prairie warbler (I think), a towhee, a kingfisher, a merlin, a coopers hawk, and a blue gray gnatcatcher. It was SPRING down there. We'll all just have to hang on a little longer here.
