Weather:
It's a little frustrating that I'm still dressed in cold weather gear, looking like Ralphie's brother, Randy, from the movie A Christmas Story. It's April 10th, and still cold on top of Bradbury. A light SE breeze off the ocean kept noses sniffling and fingers sheltered. The afternoon saw a few breaks of sun, which was welcome.
Raptor Observations:
Still as much migrating taking place as one might expect, given the time of year. Winds weren't strong, but the direction was not ideal. The increase in direct sun, in the afternoon, may have been enough to persuade a few birds to move, which is when we had one of our better hours. A close Merlin, which paused to circle a few times was a nice sight.
Non-raptor Observations:
The species list remains low, but I did get to add a first of season, Northern Flicker to the list.
Predictions:
Tomorrow should be a little warmer, with temps in the low 40's. Skies should be mostly clear, which could make spotting a little more difficult, but also more comfortable. Winds may shift from the N in the morning, to more SSE for the rest of the day. Wind speed should remain low.
