...immature bird continues (since Jan 02.). Photos at ca 11 A.M. today indicate red increasing on head, especially from nape upwards toward the crown. It continues to cache suet and today a piece of Saltine, in holes and crack in telephone pole. When caching the cracker, it deftly turns its head sideways and inserts it into a vertical crack.
(Only eagles at the landfill were 2 very active adult Bald Eagles and one immature Bald Eagle. The gulls were sparse, vastly outnumbered by crows. Maine birds mailing list
