Around 7:30 a.m today an adult peregrine was consuming its morning pigeon atop a mast of the windjammer J&E Riggin docked next to the water treatment plant. This has become a favored feeding perch in recent days. At west end of Owls Head airport (RTE 73), a heavily marked snowy owl sitting on the runway lights. This is definitely a different owl from a previous lighter colored one. Having seen the released Portland owl up close, I suspect this could be that same individual. The Portland owl release site is only 3-4 miles away.
