RE: [Maine-birds] Oarweed & Perkins Coves 2/9/14

And, though no confirmation is needed, my wife just phoned in to say that she and Linda Powell also viewed the Dovekie in the same spot today. Kinda makes me wish I had gone with them...

Subject: [Maine-birds] Oarweed & Perkins Coves 2/9/14

ID'd and photo'd my first Dovekie in Oarweed Cove (opposite side of Perkins Cove) Ogunquit, late afternoon. Eiders and Buffleheads present. In Perkins Cove I have shots of 2 Horned Grebes fishing near a female RedBreasted Merganser and a Red-throated Loon. Made the rounds from York Harbor where I counted ten RT Loons to Ogunquit. Only the one Snowy Owl at Nubble. Will tally others later. ( I need help learning how to count birds ;-)
