Susan is right about FL state parks; they are amazing and there are many, many of them! Seems that all have good birding.
 Camping at Collier-Seminole near Everglades is a good choice; also Paynes Prairie near Gainesville.
If you want an island, Cayo Costa State Park, reach by ferry, stay for the day or overnight.
