Just had a gorgeous male Rusty Blackbird patrolling the ground near my feeders. He called incessantly (low "chuck" notes and high-pitched playground-swing squeals). He did not show any interest in the feeders themselves and only examined the snow-covered ground from several feet away. His main interest was the water ditch in my backyard... he waded through the shallow water, turning over wet leaves, and pecking at small snail shells now and again.
-- Feeling very lucky to check off this beautiful migrant as a yard bird!
