Visitors:
No visitors to the hawk watch today.
Weather:
Winds were slightly stronger than expected, beginning the count from the west and shifting southwest by the afternoon. Plenty of sunshine with intermittent cloud cover throughout the day.
Raptor Observations:
Not quite as much activity as I was hoping to see today considering wind predictions, however, it did turn out to be a productive count day.
Non-raptor Observations:
35 species were observed from the summit today. Individuals deemed migrating included: 9 American Goldfinches 22 Tree Swallows 4 Common Grackles 2 Yellow-rumped Warblers
Predictions:
A cooler day tomorrow. Winds are predicted to be light, starting from the west, shifting northwest through the morning, turning southwest into the afternoon, and northwest again by the end of the day. Depending on what the winds decide to do, it could be a decent day for migration activity.
