Visitors:
16 people visited the hawk watch today.
Weather:
Another beautiful day on the summit. Winds started out a bit stronger than anticipated out of the northeast through the morning, teetering east in the early part of the afternoon before shifting southeast through the end of the count.
Raptor Observations:
Migration was on the lower end today but offered nice diversity of species. Turkey Vultures are still dominating the numbers, occasional early Broad-winged Hawks are being seen, and daily Osprey observations are increasing as the season progresses.
Non-raptor Observations:
30 species were observed from the summit today. Individuals deemed migrant included: 1 Hermit Thrush 3 Tree Swallows 1 Purple Finch 3 Red-winged Blackbirds
Predictions:
Southeast winds and plenty of rain on the schedule for tomorrow. It's looking like it might be a total rain out, although we might get lucky with a some visibility in the earlier part of morning, but we'll have to wait and see.
