I have the pleasure of teaching ornithology at College of the Atlantic this spring. In the past, when I have taught this class, it has been evenly split between class, lab, and field. With the global situation, it has been fun figuring out how to turn this into and entirely on-line course. As part of that, I have been getting out and filming birds to use in lectures that I post on-line.
Today, while at Acadia National Park's Great Meadow, my FOY (First Of the Year) Northern Harrier flew by.
Later, at Hamilton Pond, a raft of 20 Ring-necked Ducks were my other FOY.
