The snow dump has substantially increased the feeder bird population for the moment.
Prior to snowmageddon, there were females joining the male phoebe and the male bluebird but I have not seen the bluebirds since the storm. Female Phoebe was present friday but not confirmed since.
In between topping off the fishtanks and feeding the woodstove, noted:
30ish flock of RW Blackbirds cruise in daily with single digit common Grackles
Similar large flock of Goldfinches 50 + with at least one PIne Siskin joining them
Juncos returned from wherever Juncos go when there is good weather
Song Sparrows, singing
Mourning doves
pair Hairy Woodpeckers, scouring the blowdowned birches and willows
pair Downies
single Pileated
pair Ravens making frequent flybys of the barn for stray eggs
male Cardinal
