Visitors:
19 people visited the hawk watch today.
Weather:
Moderate northwest winds persisted through most of the day, carrying some heavy gusts at times. A cooler day on the summit, warming a little through the afternoon.
Raptor Observations:
Slower day on the summit today. Winds out of the northwest were stronger than desirable. Most birds were observed at a distance.
Non-raptor Observations:
38 species were observed from the summit today. Individuals deemed migrating included: 8 Tree Swallows 3 Yellow-rumped Warblers 12 Double-crested Cormorant 2 American Robins 1 Barn Swallow 1 Cliff Swallow
Predictions:
West winds to start, quickly shifting southwest, then turning south through the afternoon. Mostly clear skies in the morning, increasing with the wind shift south. Could be another nice spring raptor migration flight day. We'll see what these winds do.
