The bird rush has definitely gone into high gear...1 Baltimore oriole at 2 pm Mon. and 4 today at 9 a.m.! Yesterday was quite a bird movement day here in West K. as well. Just hanging out around my yard area was enough to see continuous groups of yellow rumps as well as black throated blue and black throated green warblers-the latter in full voice. Black and white warblers and redstarts as well came through joining the numerous transient and resident white throated, song, field, chipping, and swamp sparrows. Yellow bellied sapsuckers(pair) have been visiting the suets. 6 pairs of tree sparows are in nest boxes by the river and another 3-4 pairs in the field next door. Phoebes have finished nest under the eaves of the garage.
So much to enjoy after such a difficult April for us all!!
Enjoy! Sharon in West Kennebunk
