[Maine-birds] Warblers have arrived in Yarmouth

I went out this morning and birded the powerline cut off Hillside St. in Yarmouth.  First bird I heard when I stepped out of the car was a Prairie Warbler singing, following by Black-throated Green, Black-and-White, Common Yellowthroat, Ovenbird, and a surprise WOOD THRUSH.  Sparrow-wise I had at least 6 Swamp Sparrows, 40+ White-throated Sparrows, and a surprise FIELD SPARROW. It felt like all the birds arrived at once (I was in the same powerline cut yesterday and didn’t have any of these birds!).

At Royal River Park in Yarmouth, there were lots of Yellow-rumped Warblers, a Chestnut-sided Warbler, Yellow Warbler, and Northern Parula.  The Warbling Vireo was also back, as well as a Blue-gray Gnatcatcher.

Fun day to be out and about!
