In Holden we always get fall migratory flocks of White-throated sparrows, along with song sparrows, thrushes, etc.  But this year the White Throats are unusually abundant.  Today's flock, foraging around the yard, numbers more than a dozen.  Some are even singing, reminding us of the sounds of spring.
