Now that we have snow cover again the feed is very busy. The flock of goldfinches was joined by a male/female pair of purple finches. The titmice, chickadees, red breasted nuthatches, a couple juncos and 2 mourning doves insisted the goldfinches share in the bounty.
Down the hill by the road was a murder of crows on a roadkill deer. At least until the bald eagle showed up for its turn. I took a look at the carcass this afternoon and found it was headless and well gutted out. I suspect a canine of some sort has been involved.
