[Maine-birds] 2 eagle pair bonding

We walked the Rockland Breakwater today, seeing what species are still here and who seems to be heading out.
Suddenly we heard high-pitched sounds and at the same time two Herring gulls in the water started a ruckus over nothing obvious. So, we looked up, and saw 2 pair of adult Bald Eagles high above us, above the harbor. Each pair member was spiraling with its partner, occasionally gliding to a new spot, in tandem, to spiral some more. Then one pair headed south together. The other stayed in the sky above the harbor for some time. It was a magnificent sight :)
Double date? ;)
