York County

A WHITE-EYED VIREO continues to be heard singing at Laudholm Farm in Wells. It frequents the area at the intersection of the Pilger and Barrier Beach trails.

The CHESTNUT-COLLARED LONGSPUR, continuing from June 22nd, was last seen at East Point Sanctuary in Biddeford Pool on June 28th.

Greater Portland

Highlights from Stratton Island on the 1st included: a WHITE-FACED IBIS, a male WILSON'S PHALAROPE that has been present for almost a week, and a SANDWICH TERN that flew through the colony on the east side of the island.

Both the TRICOLORED HERON and WHITE-FACED IBIS continue to be reported from the Scarborough Marsh, typically from the Eastern Trail. An AMERICAN WIGEON was also here on the 25th and migrating shorebirds are increasing this week.

A pair of ROYAL TERNS were reported from a boat fishing near Richmond Island in Cape Elizabeth on the 29th.

Kennebec River Valley (Augusta-Waterville)

A YELLOW-THROATED VIREO was heard from the Dead River in Leeds going into Androscoggin Lake on the 1st.

Midcoast

On the morning of the 28th, a BLACK SKIMMER was seen along the south shore of the lagoon at Popham Beach State Park. Also at Popham, an early BAIRD'S SANDPIPER was photographed on the 29th and a ROYAL TERN was reported on the 1st.

A LESSER BLACK-BACKED GULL was reported from a dock on Vinalhaven on the 26th.
