8/5/12
Thick fog at the mouth and eastern side of the bay today.
Dozens of gannets, including immatures fishing, dozens of Wilson's Storm-petrels along the edges of the fog banks.
Two Barn Swallows came out of the fog at the mouth of the bay at 5 p.m. circled the boat and then continued southward into a strong wind.
A couple of Black Guillemots in full winter plumage today.
Increasing numbers of Common Loons all through the bay area.
The Sheep Porcupine eaglet appears to have left the nest area.
Not in the bay...I have three Brown Thrashers coming to my feeders in Bar Harbor, probably a family group. Tufted Titmice in full "song" all weekend.
