[Maine-birds] Cackling Goose (Geese?) - Thornhurst Farm

Jay Adams and I met up with Rob Spiers about 9:25 this morning at Thornhurst Farm, Yarmouth where he had already found one and a probable second, Cackling Goose on the left side of Rte 115 in a smaller group of Canada geese in front of the white fence by the gray ranch house.  We were able to get on them both, and while one is slightly larger, both have the shorter stubby bill, shorter neck, longer primary feathers.

We did not search long in the geese on the right side for the GWFG, as that group was much further back from the road; and we did not have time, but it was not apparent from that angle.

I can send a link to other photos if interested.
Thanks again, Rob!
