Visitors:
10 people visited the hawkwatch.

Weather:
It was overcast throughout the count, and snow showers started to the south at around 8:30 am EST. This snow along the horizon probably caused many raptors to hunker down. Winds varied between northwesterly, northerly, and north northeasterly. Light snow started over Bradbury Mountain at around 9 am EST, eventually becoming heavier and ending the count at 11:15 am EST. Snow continued through the afternoon.

Raptor Observations:
One migrating red-tail flew over Portland. At least the count wasn't "skunked!" A few local Turkey Vultures were active around Bradbury Mountain and Hedgehog Mountain. A local Cooper's Hawk was displaying through the flurries.

Non-raptor Observations:
19 bird species were observed. A flock of around 20 Bohemian Waxwings landed in a nearby tree, allowing visitors to get a great view. Some robin flocks were migrating despite the snow. Species deemed migrating: 56 American Robins 1 American Goldfinch 1 Common Grackle 1 Purple Finch

Predictions:
After some rainy, windy, and snowy days, tomorrow's forecast finally looks good! Clear skies and moderate north northwesterly winds are predicted. Following three days of mediocre migration weather, it should be a good flight. Don't forget your binoculars!
