[Maine-birds] This Week's Highlights and New Arrivals, 4/6-12

Hi all,

My observations of note over the past seven days included the following:
- 12 Wilson's Snipe, 11 Horned Larks, etc. Highland Road, Brunswick, 4/6 (with Saturday Morning Birdwalk group).
- 3 drake, 1 hen NORTHERN SHOVELER, 400 distant scaup, etc, Wharton Point, Brunswick, 4/6 (with Saturday Morning Birdwalk group). 
- Brown's Point Road, Bowdoinham, 4/7:
1500+ Common Mergansers
500 Canada Geese
308 Ring-necked Ducks
28 Lesser Scaup
8 Greater Scaup
etc
-Mouth of the Abagadasset River, Bowdoinham, 4/7:
2500 American Black Ducks
400 Mallards
125 Green-winged Teal
5 Northern Pintails
4 Wood Ducks
etc
- 2 female GADWALL, Prout's Pond, Scarborough, 4/9 (with Zane Baker).
- 3 drake NORTHERN SHOVELERS, 4 American Wigeon, 9 Horned Larks, 1 Snow Bunting, etc, Eastern Road Trail, Scarborough Marsh, 4/9 (with Zane Baker).

And my personal FOY's:
- 1 Winter Wren, Highland Road, 4/6 (with Saturday Morning Birdwalk group).
- 1 Fox Sparrow, here at the store, 4/6.
- 1 Osprey, over the store, 4/6.
- 1 Rusty Blackbird, Florida Lake Park, Freeport, 4/7.
- 1 Palm Warbler, Florida Lake Park, 4/7.
- 2 Pied-billed Grebes, Prout's Pond, 4/9 (with Zane Baker).
- 1 Northern Rough-winged Swallow, Grondin Pond, Scarborough, 4/9 (with Zane Baker)
- 2 Chipping Sparrows, Grondin Pond, 4/9 (with Zane Baker).
- 1 "IPSWICH" SAVANNAH SPARROW, Eastern Road Trail, 4/9 (with Zane Baker).
- 1 Swamp Sparrow (first of spring), Florida Lake Park, Freeport, 4/11.
- 2 Hermit Thrushes (first of spring), Old Town House Park, North Yarmouth, 4/12.
- 1 Pine Warbler (interestingly an early female), our feeders at home in Pownal, 4/13.
- 2 Broad-winged Hawks, Bradbury Mountain Hawkwatch, 4/12.
