Weather:
No hawkcounters made it up the mountain today due to the continuing light rain and drizzle from a rare mid-May Nor'easter. And, to be perfectly honest, there was not much incentive to be up there anyway with temperatures setting a record low max for the date. It was just not a nice day out there. Migrant raptors agreed.

Predictions:
Tomorrow, the 15th of May is the last day of the Bradbury Mountain Spring Hawkwatch count season. While rain should be long gone by the start of the count, clouds will likely linger for the majority of the day due to continued instability and the approach of a closed upper-level low. However, the current NWS forecast calls for a shift from northwest winds in the morning to southwest winds in the afternoon. could we end the season with a bang? While it would take the "late day falcon flight" of the ages to set a new record, considering the weather we have had this year, it is incredible that we have blown away the second all-time highest season count. More analysis will come after the season, but this one definitely defied quite a bit of conventional wisdom. A hearty thank you to the dedication and effort of our Official Counter, Zane Baker. The weather tested him once again, but this year, the birds definitely rewarded him! Will he be back for year 4 to make a run at the all-time record once again? Hmmm, maybe we'll bring that up to him on a warmer day!
