on Sat. a white crowned sparrow stayed on my railing long enough for me to really study him--
-- one pair of geese has been coming through with 6 v. young goslings--
four male mallards hanging out together most days
a young redwinged blackbird (male) on the feeder--alternately eating and begging--
two great blue herons flew by along the edge of the pond--no chipmunks this year (why?) so they haven't been hunting on my bank
