Visitors:
5 people visited the hawk watch today.
Weather:
Light winds out of the southwest started the day, teetering west and south mid-day, turning south and southeast through the afternoon.
Raptor Observations:
It was a productive day for raptor migration, although not quite as productive as I had expected. A nice distribution of species diversity was observed today including a decent accipiter and falcon flight, as well as increasing numbers of Broad-winged Hawks and Osprey.
Non-raptor Observations:
33 species were observed from the summit today. Non-raptor individuals deemed migrant included: 4 American Robins 6 European Starlings 53 Tree Swallows 2 Purple Finches 1 Canada Goose 2 Belted Kingfishers 14 Double-crested Cormorant 2 Duck sp.
Predictions:
Strong winds carrying heavy gusts and plenty of rain tomorrow. Weather predictions indicate a total rain out, but we'll have to wait and see what happens.
