[Maine-birds] Bremen birds

The catbird and Flicker that overwintered here last year have succeeded in doing so this year. The catbird has wards off many a Blue Jay from his stash of mealworms - stabbing them in the chest - but works with the 10-12 bluebirds! It's even waiting just before dark when I put out a bit more food under the shelter of a bush. 80 or more geese have been making the back deck and lawn home these past 34 days; fortunately the cove melted today so they're happy. Fox Sparrow was here yesterday feeding under the bushes.

It's been a good winter to observe behavior in the back yard and at feeders.
