I do enjoy reading what other folks are seeing at their locations on a day-to-day basis. For me it is one of the best parts of birding; I am always interested in rarities but find the daily birds are what captivate me!!

Subject: [Maine-birds] week at Webber Pond, Bremen
The week began with the surprise and delight of a Carolina Wren at my feeder on Monday. The other surprise was the arrival of around 30 mallards flying in and out on Thursday-- they used to be storm regulars but I haven't seen as many at the same time lately.
My regular crew at the bird feeders ( and heated bird bath) goes in shifts. The bluebirds (four or five), wb nuthatches, tufted titmice, and chickadees alternate with the starlings. The hairy woodpeckers and the redbellied woodpeckers go in and out and usually dominate. The cardinal pair and the doves operate on their own schedules. I see an occasional junco and a few early morning goldfinches. I am seeing very few bluejays and no sparrows at all. Also have not seen eagles lately, possibly because there are very few ice fishermen.
I hope you will continue to post rare bird sightings on this site (including any glimpses of the stellers sea eagle) for those of us who did not leap onto the other site.
