[Maine-birds] Pittston: Cattle Egret...

Hi all,

This morning Zeke Smith reported a Cattle Egret along Rt. 27 in Pittston. I was able to relocate the bird in a fenced-in farm field on the north side of Crocker Road (GPS location of bird 44.140694, -69.743710). There were cows in a nearby corral.

This area is private property, but I had no trouble seeing the bird from the road. A local resident I spoke with said the bird (he thought there may be more than one) has been around for a while.

Wildly,
Josh

[Maine-birds] Identification help, please

Is anyone able to tell me positively if these are fish crows or American crows. I did not hear the call. Thanks.

Cheers,
Dave

We had a  female Evening Grosbeak at our feeder this morning. Unfortunately, she didn't stay long.

[Maine-birds] Iceland Gull in SW Harbor, MDI

Hi all -- Found an Iceland Gull in the harbor of Southwest Harbor late this morning near high tide. A good scanning spot for me has always been the Upper Town Dock off of Clark Point Road.

Today's quick count of Seawall's "late Laughers" Laughing Gulls was 14.

Best,
Craig

[Maine-birds] Question re: ID

I was going through some older photos and stumbled upon this. Are these Snow Geese or some kind of domestic hybrid?

Thanks!
