[Maine-birds] >15 eagles on rocks below Benton Dam on Sebasticook, 3:30pm Sat, Oct 19

I counted over 15 eagles standing on rocks below the Benton Falls Dam on the Sebasticook yesterday at around 3:30 pm.  Access is across the big field a few hundred yards below the dam off Rt 100.  When I approached the bank to look down on the river they flew down stream to the bend in the river.  Many were screeching their short call as they left the rocks and flew low about 300 yards.   The alewife or some other fish must be moving down or up stream.   The river is low and the exposed rocks are many.  Fishing must be good.  I am sure there were more eagles in the trees around the area.  Good viewing for kids.  Easy access.
