Hi all,
A few additional sightings of note from me over the past seven days included the following:
- 1 "Interior/Bay" Nelson's Sparrow, Back Beach, Tremont, 10/13 (with Rich MacDonald).
- 148 Laughing Gulls and 20 Red-necked Grebes, Seawall Beach, Acadia NP, 10/13 (with Rich MacDonald).
- 1 immature female RUBY-THROATED HUMMINGBIRD, Gilsland Farm, 10/16 (with Doug Hitchcox). First reported to our store's Facebook page on 10/14. My photo is here: ![]()

- 1 Red-necked Grebe, Lake Auburn, Auburn, 10/17.
And the "Greater Yarmouth Goose Fields Update:"
- 1 CACKLING GOOSE continues through week's end, splitting time between the fields of Greely Rd and Thornhurst Farm.
- This week's high count of Canada Geese was 532 today, as numbers have finally begun to grow more substantially. Meanwhile, over 1,000 Canada Geese were along Mayall Rd in Gray/New Gloucester today as well. The birds were far, but I could not tease anything of note out from the masses. There's little doubt a Cackling Goose would have been hard to pick out at that distance, but nothing more outstanding was present.
