[Maine-birds] Sabattus Pond, 10/19 (CANV, REDH, GRCO, etc).

Hi all,

A lovely morning - post rain - at Sabattus Pond in Sabattus yielded a nice array of waterbirds:

658 Ruddy Ducks

157 Lesser Scaup

146 Mallards

51 Greater Scaup

12 American Coots

7 American Black Ducks

6 Green-winged Teal

6 continuing REDHEADS

4 Double-crested Cormorants

2 Mallard x American Black Ducks

2 Hooded Mergansers

2 Common Loons

2 Bonaparte's Gulls (plus a few Herring Gulls with the usual Ring-bills).

1 continuing drake CANVASBACK

1 SURF SCOTER

1 Pied-billed Grebe

1 continuing immature GREAT CORMORANT

1 Great Blue Heron

Non-waterbird highlights included a handful of Palm Warblers, a flock of about 40 Common Grackles, and an impressive kettle of 54 Turkey Vultures.
